Google maps are finally three-dimensional

Google maps are very useful, but there is no doubt that it would be much better to have three instead of two dimensions on your screen.
EveryScape has been recently launched to fill a gap between maps and virtual exploration in three dimensions. What is obvious is that Google map will take a similar option into consideration.
Here you have a description of how it works. What I don’t really like is that you have only few places to visit. 4-5 cities in the U.S. is not much.
I would expect at least 50-60 cities to be covered as soon as the product was launched, but only 4-5 came up.
Nevertheless that’s another mashup that has potential. I don’t know what the future of online maps is, but I know that after the arrival of Second Life and EveryScape, the internet is getting more and more three-dimensional.

It would be nice if every city was covered, but I don’t think that’s possible. It will probably tak ages to build the infrastructure and tell people to use it. Anyway it’s a good start.
