Kisscafe.com - it’s good to be loved

Kisscafe is a free Internet dating website that offers members all the same features as other pay dating sites, along with other features designed to reduce time and steps for members when managing profiles, meeting new people, and navigating the site. But perhaps the most appealing feature is the free full membership. According to Kisscafe’s founders, the website was created in response to high prices of pay sites, the lack of quality and features offered by free sites, and the belief that dating sites should be able to offer high quality web services without raising the costs for consumers.

For beginner and computer savvy users alike, the navigation of Kisscafe’s website is designed to be quick, straightforward, and effective. One of the best examples of this is the profile editing. When making changes to profiles, all the information is immediately updated, without the need to reload or preview the page. The photo uploader is just as quick, and allows up to 5 photos to be uploaded at once. There is a photo cropper, a drag and drop picture album organizer, and an instant messaging system with video and audio capabilities available as well. Kisscafe has also launched with mobile capabilities that allow users to perform basic account functions such as checking mail, new friends, winks, and weather reports, from their mobile phones.

A big concern for many Internet dating users is privacy.  To address these issues, Kisscafe has implemented a strong spam guard and privacy settings for all Kisscafe users.  Mail settings can filter incoming messages, and privacy locks can be set on different areas of a member’s profile, photos, or blogs.  The ratings system gives members the ability to rate certain contacts and give them private access to certain personal material, while keeping these areas hidden to all other members. Privacy settings can restrict access to pictures, profile information, and even entire profiles, and give members full control over all aspects of their dating experience.

For people who want to get more involved in the site, Kisscafe has introduced a question and answer forum they’ve called “Eureka”.  Members can post questions about anything from dating, romance, and sex, to current event and sports. Featured blogs, contests, and events are also emphasized around the site, and encourage people to get involved in website activities and interact with other Kisscafe members.

With all these features, it’s surprising that Kisscafe isn’t charging a penny for membership.  While most pay dating sites are charging for services that offer members fewer features, Kisscafe is hoping to prove that meeting people online doesn’t need to cost a lot to be fun and effective. In the future, Kisscafe plans to create, implement, and improve on even more features, and ultimately encourage other websites to adopt similar customer-centric strategies, that encourage better features at lower costs, for the benefit of users.

Is it similar to facebook? It is the first time I hear about it, but it seems a nice idea to offer free sign up.
