LiteType.com is an absolutely great Free Online Virtual Multilingual & Interactive Keyboard Tool. You can type, search and translate in more than 50 foreign languages, with no need to install any additional software.
This is a website that is great if you have a keyboard that doesn’t allow to use symbols which are typical for a given language. What is cool about it is that you can type online and you have to pay nothing. It has an embedded translator which is real time.
A kind of bug is that when I type “c” I get a “v”. This may be due to the fact that I use Firefox, but it is something that must be fixed.
In a nutshell I would define it as a site that is halfway beetween Zoho Writer and Google translator. It is obvious founders have to work on it but it has definitely potential.
Businesshackers’ mark: 7/10
A good alternative we ahve discussed in the past is Gate2Home, which enables you to write in your language wherever you are in the world, with an online onscreen keyboard emulator. It allows everyone who gets stuck without the ability to write/type/search the internet in their own language be able to do just that. This is particularly useful while travelling abroad or using a different computer.
Our mark for this alternative is bit higher: 8/10
