One of the most interesting we have recently heard about is Unearth Travel Ltd. It’s a project based in London, that has been created by Robert Allen, Pip Bennett and Jeremy Boote. They told us what this is all about.

What is this about?
Unearth travel is a 2.0 Travel Planner, enabling users to research, plan, share and book trips.
At the heart of the product, a free user-generated guidebook provides relevant, up-to-date information about destinations around the globe as well as peer reviews, user ratings, supplier listings and photographs. Built around the guide are a series of tools that empower the user:
The Itinerary Builder allows the user to create, book and share a trip using interactive maps and then produce a personalised downloadable travel guide.
The Trip Hunter, a recommendation engine, enables the user to enter criteria and receive suggested destinations, tours and routes.
Unearth Travel is a consolidated environment designed to turn travellers’ dreams into reality.

What makes this special?
The online travel industry provides a number of resources and tools in a multitude of places. Unearth Travel is a unique, unified and powerful Travel Planning resource.
The Itinerary Builder provides new end to end functionality, from helping individuals decide where to go, how to get there, where to stay, what to do, and book, all in one place
The Trip Hunter gives users inspiration through the experience of fellow travellers worldwide.

What is the objective of the founders?
We aim to serve the young, adventurous traveller. Competitors lack a consolidated approach. Wiki travel guides present useful information but fail to deliver planning and booking tools. Online Travel agents channel consumers towards a transaction and offer little else. We will offer all a traveller will need, in one place.

Does this need an investor? - Yes, sure
