imageA Beta version of Nimbuzz a Dutch startup that has received investment from Mangrove Capital Partners SA is now available.

In a nutshell it is a chat service that enables you to call people whose phone numbers you don”t have. Nimbuzz provides a way to connect the 2.2 billion global users of
mobile devices with the 1.1 billion global Internet users in real time and without charging them a single buck. The application supports multi-directional voice, presence and messaging between mobile devices and PC’s.

imageNimbuzz is available as a J2ME client for mobile phones, for mobile web browser (no download needed) and as a Windows PC client.

Nimbuzz can be used with most mobile phones and devices, including:
* Most Java-enabled mobile phones
* Most BlackBerry devices
* Any other internet enabled mobile phone or device

What is really nice is that software, the Nimbuzz IM and Text Message Service are all absolutely free. The service is available on more than 500 different types of phones in over 35 different countries.

    That’s really cool. It’s a pity you have to pay for local calls. Otherwise it would be excellent.
